Common Questions

12 answers

What is Auditober?

A monthlong challenge for the audit community, running through October 2026 and powered by AssureSwarm, the first agent-native audit management platform. Internal auditors build agent-native audit solutions, a workflow, an agent skill, a plugin, or a dashboard, in a free sandbox, and share what they build.

The point is collective intelligence: the community's best thinking, available to everyone who takes part.

When is it?

The whole of October 2026. There are no other dates to remember yet: sign up, and when entries open we email everyone on the list.

How much time does it take?

As little as 30 minutes to set up your sandbox and submit an idea. Beyond that, put in as much of October as you like.

Who is eligible to win?

Awards are limited to practitioners working within an organization's internal audit function. Use the work email associated with that role when joining the update list. Full eligibility requirements will be published with the rules.

Is Auditober a hackathon?

Yes, in spirit: Auditober is the audit community's hackathon, stretched across a whole month. Instead of a weekend of code, you get the whole of October 2026 to build a workflow, an agent skill, a plugin, or a dashboard on mock data, and every entry is shared anonymously with all participants rather than locked away with one winning team.

If you searched for an audit hackathon, an internal audit hackathon, or a GRC hackathon, this is that event.

What do I enter?

A workflow, an agent skill, a plugin, or a dashboard, built for any phase of the audit: planning and risk assessment, walkthroughs, testing and fieldwork, findings and reporting.

A workflow is the steps of a piece of audit work, defined once so agents and auditors run them the same way every time. An agent skill is a reusable set of instructions an AI agent follows to do one piece of audit work. A dashboard is the live view of that work.

Every entry is judged in one of four categories: risk assessment, SOX, operational audit, and most creative.

Where do I build it?

In a free sandboxed AssureSwarm instance, loaded with mock data, provided to every entrant or team. No integration, no procurement, and no private data.

What support is there during October?

A kickoff session, weekly office hours, and a CPE training session. The details come with the rules.

What happens to my entry?

It is shared anonymously with all participants. That is the heart of Auditober: everyone who enters leaves with everyone's work, the community's whole playbook.

Exactly where and how entries are shared will be stated in the published rules.

What can I win?

The winner of each of the four categories takes an AuditKeyboard home, and the winners share $1,000,000 in AssureSwarm subscriptions.

Full rules and entry mechanics are not announced yet; sign up and we will email them to you when they are.

Who are the judges?

The judging panel will be announced soon, and the judging process comes with the rules.

Is my data safe?

Yes, because none of it is used. The challenge runs entirely on mock data: nothing from your organisation's systems, workpapers or audit record is uploaded, and you never need to bring real evidence to take part.
